Health & Safety

The Crummock health and safety culture starts with the Directors and feeds through to the site based teams and involves everyone including office based staff.  Crummock is an accredited member of CHAS (Contractrors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) and the British Safety Council.

Our prime objectives with regards to health and safety are to meet and exceed industry expectations and to have a zero accidents target.  A tremendous effort is put into health and safety which is focussed through a senior manager who has responsibility for Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental systems.

Our own skills and expertise are supplemented by external safety consultants.  They are qualified in areas including: planning supervision (Construction Design and Management), CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) and NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) plant training and risk assessment.  They carry out training as well as conducting independent site safety audits.

As a minimum company training standard, all Crummock's Directors and management have achieved the CITB site managers safety certificate and all other employees including office staff have attended a CITB one day safety awareness course.  In addition specialist management staff and plant training has been conducted and is ongoing in accordance with the company safety training plan.

Crummock has also received many annual safety awards from the British Safety Council.  The annual award recognises companies with a below average accident rate and who have made at least two significant advances in health and safety within the year.
