Health & Safety

Two of the prime objectives of Crummock with regards to health and safety are to meet and exceed industry expectations and to have a zero accidents target. With those objectives in mind a tremendous effort is put into health and safety.

The focus of this effort is the Crummock safety culture.

The culture starts with the Directors and feeds through to the site based team and involves everyone including office based staff.

The company employs a senior manager who has responsibility for Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental systems. We also use an external safety consultant who is qualified in many areas including planning supervision (CDM) CITB and NPORS plant training and risk assesment. He carries out relevant training in association with other training bodies, as well as conducting independent site safety audits. Crummock is committed to our safety policy, procedures and safety training plan at all levels of the company.

As a minimum company training standard all Crummock's directors and management have achieved the CITB site managers safety certificate (SMSTS) and all other employees including office staff have attended a CITB one day safety awareness course. In addition specialist management staff and plant training has been conducted and is ongoing in accordance with the company safety training plan.

Crummock has also received many annual safety awards from the British Safety Council with the most recent being in the year 2009. The annual award recognises companies with a below average accident rate and companies who have made at least two significant advances in health and safety within the year.

Crummock, through our safety department, are able to offer a high standard of health and safety advice and training on a consultancy basis.

All group companies operate to the same stringent standards.
