About Us Construction Surfacing Overseas Building & Development Health & Safety Careers

Careers

Because of the variety in the size and value of our contracts, and the demands of a diverse Client base, anyone joining Crummock will gain a mixture of experiences right from their first day. This exposure quickly enables new recruits to gain valuable skills, which stand them in good stead for a career in construction. In addition to hiring experienced staff, Crummock has embarked on a programme of introducing new recruits to the industry. Underpinning this strategy is a training programme disproportionate to the size of the company.

In the past we have sponsored apprentice surfacing operatives working their way through a formal apprenticeship designed by Crummock and Telford College, with the aim of achieving SVQ level 2 in Roadworks, and many of our Civils Operatives have gained an SVQ level 2 in Construction Operations.

The company sponsors chain-boys through an H.N.C. qualification in Civil Engineering, undergraduates through their degree, and recruits graduate trainees as required to undergo a fully tailored training programme, overseen by our very experienced Commercial Director.

Once through the initial programme, a graduate will undergo the regular ongoing training that all our professional staff receive, including Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, Contracts, Project Management and the use of relevant software.

In 2010 the company is sponsoring 1 Trainee Engineer through the completion of his HNC and beginning of his degree in Civil Engineering, and 1 Trainee Quantity Surveyor through her degree in Quantity Surveying. A further member of staff will go into second year of an HNC in Quality Management.

As a company we are fully aware of the need to bring new blood into the industry, and will continue to offer opportunities to youngsters and new graduates to encourage that process.

We currently have a vacancy for a Trainee Graduate Site Engineer.
