Because of the variety in the size and value of our contracts, and the demands of a diverse Client base, anyone joining Crummock will gain a mixture of experiences right from their first day. This exposure quickly enables new recruits to gain valuable skills, which stand them in good stead for a career in construction. In addition to hiring experienced staff, Crummock has embarked on a programme of introducing new recruits to the industry. Underpinning this strategy is a training programme disproportionate to the size of the company.

At present we have 4 apprentice surfacing operatives working their way through a formal apprenticeship designed by Crummock and Telford College, with the aim of achieving SVQ level 2 in Roadworks.

In the year 2005/6, 82 Crummock construction operatives gained SVQ level 2 qualifications in Construction Operations.

The company sponsors chain-boys through an H.N.C. qualification in Construction Management, undergraduates through their degree, and recruits graduate trainees as required to undergo a fully tailored training programme, overseen by our very experienced Commercial Director.

Once through the initial programme, a graduate will undergo the regular ongoing training that all our professional staff receive, including Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, Contracts, Project Management and the use of relevant software.

As a company we are fully aware of the need to bring new blood into the industry, and will continue to offer opportunities to youngsters and new graduates to encourage that process.
